The last Parish Council meeting has only just gone as I write this just before the newsletter deadline, so not as much this month.  One thing I am to mention though is litter. As with everywhere else these days, there is concern that there is too much in the village. We can't blame visitors so much at this time of year, so please, if you are guilty, let's help make Rudston "cleaner" than most.

Related to this is the on-going dog mess problem, of course.  That situation is much improved, but there seems to be a "hard-core" of one or two not inclined to help. To them, you have been noted, and there has been a suggestion of "name and shame." Incidentally, the dog problem got a mention in the first or second newsletter 21 years ago, so nothing new there!

Anti-social behaviour has also been reported (maybe there is a link there), which in turn is being reported to police.  Our representative, Mrs. Gatenby, is attending a meeting, which you will have seen advertised, on 4th April.  If there is anything you think she might not have been made aware of, and if in time, I'm sure she will be pleased to hear from you.

It appears that the general election will be called for the day after the next Parish Council meeting. It seems unlikely that the village hall will be ready - we can use the Art Gallery again, but where will they go?  More next time on that, but ours is the "annual" meeting to be held on 4th May.  It will be preceded by the separate "Parish Meeting," which there would seem to be even less reason for people to attend this year, with the successful conclusion of the Village Ventures scheme and this newsletter keeping everyone up to date.

We have heard a little more on the Flexibus service, and the matter may be taken further. Parish council member, Mr Overfield, now has this in hand.
