| VILLAGE HALL NEWS
Work continues on the refurbishment, as you will have seen if you have walked past the Hall. How lovely to see our hopes and plans coming to fruition at last. We are looking forward to seeing the finished ‘product.’ The Fund-raising sub-committee wish to give sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the Cake Stall that was held at Driffield in November, which raised £318.35. An absolutely wonderful result! Also we wish to thank the Craft Group and those who joined them in their Carol Singing around the village in December. The stalwarts who bravely turned out on a cold December evening collected £237.00! A marvellous effort, carried out in true Christmas spirit and much enjoyed by everyone who was visited. Many thanks to all who donated. We really do appreciate your help and support. Thanks to the Craft Group for organising it. You will recall that there was mention of a Christmas Draw being arranged but it was decided that as there are so many calls upon people’s generosity (and purse) at this time of the year, we would postpone it until later, and we have now arranged a Spring Draw which will take place at a Coffee Morning to be held at Romano, the home of Mr and Mrs Tony Proctor, on Friday the 18th of March from 10.00am – 12.00noon. Tickets, price £1.50, which includes coffee and scones, will be on sale soon and the Draw tickets costing £1.00 each will shortly be available. The first prize in the Draw will be £50.00. (If anyone would like books of tickets to sell to their friends or work colleagues, please contact Wendy Proctor who will be delighted to supply them). If anyone would like to donate a prize for either of these events, we would be very grateful. We still need funds to enable us to fit out the re-vamped Village Hall so it is essential that we carry on raising money. We are very grateful for your assistance and encouragement to date and hope you will help us to complete the project. Barbara Moorfoot |
