NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

This warmer weather usually reveals an increase in sneak in burglaries. While householders are enjoying the fine weather, they leave front windows open, an invitation to the opportunist thief.

Keys and handbags left near to open or insecure windows and doors are a prime target for the sneak in thief. You had to work hard to pay for and maintain your car; the thief got it for nothing.

If you have gates to driveways and gardens, use them, don't leave them open. The would-be thief needs a quick access or escape, not an obstruction.

Neighbouring villages have had garden sheds and vehicles broken into. Secure them well, don't leave valuable items in view, and cover them up, don't make them a target.

Finally, Humberside Police are urgently looking for
Paid volunteers to assist in 'role plays' in its training of new recruits, within their training scheme of new police officers. Anyone interested please contact Mathew Peach, 01482 808736, for further details. Interested parties should be 18 years upwards.

Any volunteers for this neighbourhood watch coordinators position?
