team shield. Congratulations to all the ladies on a brilliant season.

Not quite as successful were the Sunday night 5's and 3's domino mixed team, who, along with the Monday night pool team, managed to end their seasons in the middle of their respective league tables. But all who took part in both teams gave 100% and enjoyed their games and their nights out. So well done and let's hope for some more fun next year and perhaps a few more wins. !!!

Success for one of the artists at the Tony Hogan Art Centre Gallery, here in Rudston.

The gallery is delighted to announce that Margaret Hockney has had work accepted for the Royal Academy summer exhibition.

Margaret, who produced the definitive photograph of the Rudston Monolith, (available from the gallery,) has never before submitted to the Royal Academy. To get a piece accepted, at any time, is a major achievement for any artist, but to get in on your first attempt is outstanding.

The exhibition is the most important show of the best of work by British artists, and attracts around ten thousand entries trying to get in each year, with only a few hundred being accepted and hung.

The work hung was a special scanograph created just for the Royal Academy, but other works by Margaret using her scanograph technique can be seen and purchased from the Tony Hogan Gallery.

The Gallery is now open between 10 am and 4 pm each day except Monday, with a comprehensive selection of original paintings, prints and photographs, many local to the Yorkshire Wolds and East Coast.
