As most will have discovered, we now have a Can Bank in our recycling facilities.  The Parish Council was asked if Rudston was still interested in one, having enquired in the past, and there was an immediate "yes please!" Apparently, we were one of a limited number of those contacted, due to our good record regarding Glass and Paper.  Let's keep up the good work!  As to exactly what can be put in this one, to quote from the letter from East Riding of Yorkshire Council: "cans, tins and foils".

Audit time is upon us once more. Official requirements seem to change year by year, and all I need say here is that a notice has been displayed to say that the books are available to view by appointment at the home of the chairman between the dates mentioned.  Because of this, the next Parish Council meeting is not until Wednesday, 6th July, when we hope to return to a "new" village hall.  We have been most grateful to Mr. Tony Hogan for the use of the Art Gallery over the last few months, especially as it precluded likely treks to the Sports Pavilion on those cold dark winter nights.

At last time's meeting, Mr. Tony Ezard was re-elected Chairman and Mr. Paul Burgess as Vice-chairman. The rest of the Parish Council remains unchanged: Messrs. Corner, Wood, Overfield (R), Ward (C), Smallwood, Gray, Revd. Cope, Mrs. Gatenby and Mrs. Beresford.

E.R.Y.C. Highways personnel have paid a visit to the village, and have identified a number of "matters outstanding."  Work to commence shortly.  They already had the main task in hand, which is the replacement of ALL signs - whether they need it or not.  Speeding traffic on the main road remains a problem, and another survey is to be undertaken before deciding what further action can be taken.  Also the matter of a new bus shelter is being pursued once again.  We shall need to decide what type of shelter is required, so please contact one of the parish councillors if you have any thoughts on that.

Hardly a meeting goes by when Police matters do not get a mention. The big issue remains Anti-Social Behaviour and an interesting
