Editor's Piece.

Hello and welcome to this month's Newsletter.

The Rudston Newsletter is a staggering 21 years old this month. Tony Ezard has written an article covering the life of the Newsletter, from its original conception by George Cummins, to what we have today, and some of the problems we have had on the way. I have included some of the articles from the March 1984 edition in this issue.

The Newsletter is supported mainly by sponsorship and donations from people in the village, local organisations and businesses, and one or two ex-pats. It costs just £25 per issue to sponsor the Newsletter, and the sponsor's name is usually added to the front cover. If you would like to sponsor the Newsletter for one month, then please get in touch with me, or one of the other Newsletter Committee members.

As mentioned in previous issues, since Bridlington School stopped printing the Newsletter, we have been doing it ourselves. We are looking for someone with some basic computer skills to help with the printing, to cover for illness, holidays etc. If you feel that you can help then please get in touch with me on 420311, or one of the other Newsletter Committee members.

Well, winter has decided to show its nasty side at last. As I sit here, typing away, there is a blizzard blowing outside. We have had our warnings from the weather forecasters, so we should be prepared. A spade or shovel in the boot, so that you can dig yourself out if you get stuck in the snow, plenty of warm clothing and a blanket to keep you warm, a flask of your favourite hot beverage, and some high energy food such as chocolate for if you are stranded and have to wait for help to come.
