VILLAGE BINGO
I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the Village Bingo throughout last year. During 2004 we raised £1050, after paying out winnings and photocopying costs, which is absolutely brilliant. This is the most that we have raised in the last few years and it would not have been possible without everyone's support.
I would also like to express my thanks to Anna Burgess, Lorna Moore and Judith Woods who kindly deliver the tickets every week without fail, come rain or shine.
I am hoping that we can do better this next year. Rudston Village Bingo has been on the go for over 20 years, and in that time, I believe that we have never had a price increase (unlike most things). So if there is anyone who would like to increase the number of books they play, please contact myself on 420708 or the person who delivers your tickets. Just think if, 20 people increase the number of books they play by just 1 each, then over a year a further £ 100 would be raised.
If there is anyone who isn't playing Bingo and would like to join to help raise funds for the village, please contact me, Paula Beresford, on the above telephone number.
Once again, thank you very much.
PS. From 28th February, Fiona Turner has kindly taken over one of the Eastgate rounds (from the bridge down to The Old Barn).
The Rudston Village Bingo got off to a start at around the same time as the Newsletter. The advertised price for a book was the same as it is today, 10p, and the top prize was £20.00. (Ed.)
