Making the Village Action Plan Happen
Everyone should have had a Village Action Plan delivered with the Newsletter this month. It has taken a bit longer than expected to get to the printed version, but that has not stopped some of the actions being started in the meantime. The process of creating the Plan has been helpful to the village, as it has brought over £2500 up to now, to different voluntary groups in the village for an investment of £265 from the Parish Council plus a number of people, too numerous to mention, providing their time.
Now we have the Plan, it can be used as a backup to applications for funding to achieve things we decided we needed. Some of the actions were already in hand and some have progressed with their own momentum. There were some though that were identified as needs, but have not moved forward as yet.
It is true that "if something is to be done, someone has to do it." There isn't anyone from outside the village who is going to roll up and do it for us. We need volunteers from the village to come together to push forward on the actions, some of which are listed below:
Part- time medical / social facilities in the Village Improvement of the playground Improved facilities for the under 16s Internet café Community education Bus shelter Improving the natural habitat round the village, including bulb planting
We have people within the village who can assist in specialised areas such as funding applications, technology and accessing council and other specialists etc.
If you want any actions to be implemented, we need you to volunteer to make them happen - age is not a barrier.
For further details on how you can help, please contact any member of the Parish Council or Neil Watson at Eastgate Farm Cottage.
