FIREWORKS

Fireworks legislation change.

Drifflield Police would like to remind us that:
The new Firework Regulations 2004 are now in effect. The basics of this new legislation mean that it is now an absolute offence for those under 18 to possess a Firework in a Public Place. Officers will be on the look out for any young person with Fireworks and they will accept no excuses.

It is also now an absolute offence to set off a Firework after 11.00 pm at night – (Midnight on Bonfire Night and 1 am for certain other occasions e.g. New Year’s Eve). This includes those set off in gardens and general private property. The only exceptions are for certain organised displays.

Police are able to deal quickly with offenders with Fixed Penalty Notices.

THANK YOU

Many thanks to so many lovely people for visits, messages, enquiries, offers of help, cards, gifts, flowers and prayers during my recent stay in hospital and convalescence at home.  We were very touched by the great kindness shown.  I am glad to say that I am doing well.
