| RUDSTON VILLAGE HALL
NEWS
We are delighted to report that we have been awarded the grant of £50,000.00 from the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme. It was not all straight forward – (surprise, surprise) and required a second consultation of the Board but we got there in the end! They say that anything worth having does not come easily and that would certainly seem to be very true where this project is concerned! As explained last month, with the award of the grant comes the need to make a payment of £5,500 up-front to release it, so we now have to produce this amount. To date we have received £1850 in donations, which is marvellous. We are very grateful and give sincere thanks to the generous benefactors. Any contributions, (of whatever size), towards the rest, will be much appreciated. Work is scheduled to begin in mid October to be completed in the Spring. Let’s hope the weather is kind to us and does not cause delays in the work. We shall need to continue with our fund-raising activities even though we will not have the use of the Hall, and the next event we are planning is a cake stall on Driffield Market on Thursday November 25th. For this we shall be asking for your help with goodies for the stall once again. We had a wonderful selection last year when we had the stall in Bridlington Spa, you really did us proud, and we hope you will be able to help us this year. We also hope to repeat the Christmas Draw which was a great success. Barbara Moorfoot |
