WRITERS/LITERATURE GROUP IN RUDSTON

Anyone who is interested in forming a writers/literature group in Rudston, please send a SAE to John Sugden, Waterlane Cottage, Middle Street, Rudston, YO25 4UF. The purpose of the group would be to help each other to develop creative writing skills whether poetry, prose or factual, and to study the work of established writers.

It is proposed that such a group meet once per fortnight. Details to be arranged.

The Brain Teaser (Answers on page 22)

1, A man is driving to his father's funeral when he is involved in a serious road accident.
He is rushed to hospital and is lying on the operating table when the surgeon walks in, looks at him and exclaims "That's my son!".

How can this be ?

2, A man lives on the 15th floor of a tower block.
Each morning he calls the lift to the ground floor and sets off to work. Each evening he returns home, calls the lift but gets out at the 10th floor. He then uses the stairs to walk the remaining 5 floors.
The lift is not broken and he does not go to any other flat.
