CHURCH FUND RAISING

Now that our Festival of flowers is over we would like to thank everyone who supported this event in any way.

The fact that our Church tower needs thousands of pounds worth of repairs was our final persuasion to take on such a task. We decided it would be a challenge and, hopefully, fun for all our regular Church flower arrangers to "have-a-go", and also invite their friends along to help. September seemed a good time, when other Open Gardens and Flower Festivals have passed. The theme 'Who put the colours in the rainbow?" from the modern hymn came as a flash of inspiration whilst arranging Christmas flowers in Church. It gave us variety of scope in colour and subject.

We hope you enjoyed our artistic efforts. For a first attempt we found it very successful and were rewarded by many appreciative comments and £2,500 towards our Church Tower Appeal.

OUR GRATEFUL THANKS

We would like to give our grateful thanks to:-

All our sponsors who gave generously so that we could afford to buy flowers. All the arrangers, their helpers and stewards who gave up time in thought, planning and arranging.

All those who donated cakes, preserves etc. for our stall and refreshments for the preview evening.

Sir Ian and Lady Macdonald for their hospitality in their home for the preview party. Duncan Corner for his joinery in making new wooden window ledges.

Those who helped erect the marquee. Charlie Richardson for the oasis.

Linda for her help in ordering flowers. Angela Train who was a great strength and help both practically and spiritually in the advice she gave, enthusiasm and positive attitude she shared with us. The organists.

Mr. Doug Clark and Sir Ian for the car parks. Finally to our supporters who bought tickets and visited Church that weekend.

THANK YOU EVERYONE June Sellers
