There will be an annual general meeting on Thursday 20th October 2005 7.30pm in the village hall to discuss starting a Youth club. It will be your chance to have your say on activities, equipment, rules, fundraising and subs. Please bring your parents as their ideas and comments are very valuable too.
We currently have approximately 8 volunteer adults to help with supervision. Ideally we would like 12. Then a monthly rota can be implemented with 3 adults per session. If you know of any adult who would be willing to commit to one evening per month please ask them to attend the meeting or contact Fiona as soon as possible. The more helpers the better as each person can bring individual qualities and ideas to the club.
Requests have been made for the club to be held on a Thursday or Friday evening. This will be confirmed or voted on at the meeting depending on the availability of the hall and volunteers.
PARTY IN THE PARK
A great big thank you to all that attended this event. The helpers and the generous people who gave donations. Also many thanks to Ben Evans Kieran Rogers, Ali Scarlet and Mike Temple in their band The Captured who entertained a wide age range with their selection of music. This went down extremely well and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and all for a small donation and a few burgers. Great work Guys we wish you heaps of success for future gigs. Thanks to Tony Kilvington for the hire of the disco equipment and Andy for his DJing skills who also help secure the booking of the band.
We would like to point out that this event was all the idea of a selection of young people in the village who also did the biggest part of organising and helping on the day. Well done to all of you, a great success raising over £150.00.
