On thinking about the next Parish Council Meeting (it's gone by the time you read this!), I realised I must also think about the newsletter.

So firstly, matters arising. As expected the Parish Council have agreed, reluctantly, that nothing can be done about street lighting at the moment. Also, no one was able to attend the meeting on Wind Farms, and we await any further news on that.

Our accounts submission to the Auditor was returned with a query again. My own fault really - I had carefully explained something they might have picked-up on, and overlooked another matter which they did! However, the mathematics were correct.

Other news doesn't amount to much I'm afraid. I am beginning to suspect that companies (and maybe the Council sometimes) are ''sending'' their non-important stuff by email to clerks with those facilities, and not bothering about postage to the rest. Oh well, less for the recycling bin!

What I have just received is the Summer Travel update for the area. If anyone has visitors staying who wish to use buses to get about, it may be of assistance. From September for about two years though, we are reminded of disruption (chaos?) to buses in Hull caused by the re-building of the bus station. (Just a thought occurred: if the City Council had gone ahead with a Super-tram or Guided-bus scheme a few years ago, they wouldn't have had the money to build the K. C. Stadium). On the other hand, they would have had a new bus-station or travel interchange, as part of the deal.

But I digress! If this hasn't come too late, local community and voluntary groups may like to note that there is a free event in Driffield to discuss the "Funding Maze". Anyone who has had anything to do with trying to obtain grants or funding will agree that this is not before time. I have a leaflet, but briefly the event is on 15th September at the R.U.F.C. Clubhouse, Kelleythorpe, 1 - 6 pm.

Our next Parish Council meeting will be sometime in October - date next time.
