| CHURCH FUND RAISING
To raise money for necessary tower repairs costing several thousand pounds, we are holding our first Festival of Flowers on 10th/11th/12th/13th September. The theme will be - “Who put the colours in the rainbow?”. There will be a Preview evening on Friday 10th, from 6.15 pm, followed by a Wine and Savouries evening at Thorpe Hall from 7.30 - 10 am. This will be by ticket only, and they can be obtained from June Sellers (420237) at a cost of £ 7.50 each, to include buffet supper and first glass of wine. There will also be a raffle. The Church will be open for people to view the flowers for the rest of the weekend from 10 am to 6 pm on Sat, Sun and Mon. 11th, 12th and 13th. Programmes will be available to buy, and donations will be gratefully received. There will be a small marquee in the Churchyard selling refreshments and a Cake, Preserve and Jam stall. Contributions to this stall would be much appreciated, as would any sponsorship towards a flower arrangement. We are not asking a Flower Club to do this Festival as the flowers for these can cost hundreds of pounds. Instead our own talented flower arrangers, plus helpers from outside, are doing it. We feel this will be more in keeping with a traditional village Church. We do hope you will come along and admire all their hard work. For further details contact June Sellers 420237 or Margaret Reed 420648. |
