RUDSTON TENNIS CLUB NEWS
What a great success the coaching sessions were - over 40 children signed up, but in the end, as the sessions didn't start until the school holidays, not everyone was able to come due to family holidays. 18 sessions were held and it was great to see such enthusiasm from the children and parents. The cost of hiring the coaches was funded by a micro grant from the National Lottery. Some sessions for adults, both beginners/improvers and match players, are planned for September - if anyone is interested but hasn't yet signed up please telephone Jane on 420462.
Team News - matches are not yet completed because some were rained off and have had to be rearranged. However all teams have had mixed success and will finish in the middle/lower end of their respective divisions.
Winter League - Jo Frend is organising a winter league again - if you would like to play in this please contact Jo on - 420121 - you do not need to have partner. There will probably be two leagues so all standards are welcome to join in.
Finally, the all weather courts are available to play on all year round - they drain very quickly when it has been raining and are only un-playable (dangerously slippery) when frozen - so don't put your racquet away, keep playing!!
