RECYCLING

A further payment of £181.95 has been received from the Council in respect of glass and paper collected from the recycling bins between July to December last year.

As you will be aware, we now also have a Can Bank and, as with the glass and paper bins, we will receive payment for any cans deposited at a rate of £24.52 per tonne (the same rate that we receive for glass). Any cans deposited in the bin need to be "washed and squashed" just the same as if they were taken to the Carnaby Recycling depot, along with any empty aerosols (obviously not squashed!).

We would like to apologise for the problems encountered a few weeks ago with the paper bin; whilst various telephone calls were made to the Council, there were delays in the bin being emptied by the company responsible for it - hopefully these delays will not reoccur in the future.

Many thanks for your continued support of the recycling bins - let's keep it up so that Rudston can benefit from this extra money.
